In his sixth season as owner of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Fred Festa is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of W. R. Grace & Co. He is a seasoned executive with leadership experiences at Fortune 100 companies as well as start-up/venture businesses.
Festa joined Grace as President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2003, assumed the CEO responsibilities in June 2005 and was named Chairman of the Board in January 2008. He was President from November 2003 to November 2011. Under his leadership, the company’s revenue grew 60%.
Fred came to Grace from Morgenthaler Private Equity Partners, where he had been a partner since November 2002. From 2000 to 2002, he was President and CEO of ICG Commerce. Festa began his career at General Electric (GE), where he spent 12 years in financial management positions at five of the company’s business units.
An alumnus of SUNY (State University of New York) Oswego, Fred graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He became an independent director of NVR, one of the largest home builders in the United States, in 2008
